Layla Scott Obituary – Remembering a Life Cut Short

Layla Arshan McCray-Scott left this world tragically, and her burial service will take place at University Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana, on the first Sunday in November of 2023. She was born to her parents, Shandra Scott and Earl McCray Jr., and she was a beloved daughter to them. Layla also shared a close bond with her siblings, Kaylpe Scott, Alexis Gerdis, and Earl McCray III.

Layla was the cherished grandchild of Terry Scott, Christopher Scott, Sr., Evelyn McCray, and Earl McCray, Sr., who lovingly watched over her. She was given the name Eva after her great-grandmother, Eva Gordon Adams. Layla was not only a family member but also a dear friend to JaCobi Green and Staci Green, connecting their lives in a unique way.

Her funeral service will be held at Historic Bell Baptist Church in Luling, Louisiana, located at 300 Hackberry Street. The ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, 2023, at eleven o’clock in the morning.

The service will be attended by pastors, officers, and members of Historic Bell Baptist Church, as well as members of neighboring churches who wish to pay their respects. Friends and relatives of the family are also welcome to join in this commemoration of Layla’s life.
