Travis Aykroyd Obituary – In Loving Memory

It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Travis Aykroyd, a beloved member of the Wainwright community in Alberta. At the young age of 34, Travis departed this world on Monday, November 27, 2023, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and cherished memories

Remembering Travis

Travis is survived by his devoted family, including his loving wife Alexis and their two daughters, Grace and Avery. His parents, Gale and Grant of Wainwright, mourn the loss of their son alongside Travis’s brother, Dustin, and sisters-in-law, Courtney and Larissa. The family is further joined in their grief by Travis’s father-in-law, Tom Koskie, and mother-in-law, Linda Koskie. Together, they navigate the profound sorrow of losing a son, brother, husband, and father.

Honoring His Legacy

In this time of immense grief, we also remember and honor those who preceded Travis in death—his maternal grandparents, Reg and Irene Richards, and his fraternal grandparents, Richard and Pat Aykroyd. The collective heartache deepens as we reflect on the impact Travis had on the lives of those who knew him.

A Final Farewell

A Funeral Service to celebrate Travis’s life will be held on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at 11:00 AM at the Church of the Nazarene. Following the service, Travis will find his final resting place at the Sardis Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests memorial contributions to the Canadian Diabetes Association or to a trust established for Travis’s children. Details for the trust will be made available to those who wish to contribute, offering an opportunity to support the future well-being of Grace and Avery.

Finding Strength in Unity

As we gather to bid farewell to Travis, let us find solace in the memories we shared, the laughter he brought, and the love that will endure in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. The sudden loss of such a vibrant and cherished individual leaves a void that cannot be easily filled, but in our collective mourning, may we find strength, compassion, and the unity to support one another through this challenging time.
